Privacy policy
Effective and last updated: August 27, 2026
This page covers the Pack 173 website, used by Pack 173 families in Jupiter, Florida for registration, dues and payment tracking, event sign-ups, Class B shirt orders, and pack communications. Pack 173 is chartered under Scouting America; this site is an independent tool built and run by the pack, not by Scouting America national or the local council, and is separate from Scoutbook or other national systems.
Questions about this policy or your family's information can be sent to the pack at pack173jupfl@gmail.com, or to the treasurer at pack173jup.payments@gmail.com for anything related to dues or payments.
Who uses this site
Accounts are created by parents and guardians, not by children. A parent or guardian registers their family, and every adult on the account signs in with their own email and password. Scouts do not have their own logins and do not enter information themselves — everything about a scout is entered by their parent or guardian. This site is not directed at or intended for direct use by children.
Information we collect
About parents and guardians (adults): name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
About scouts: first and last name, den (Lion through AOL), and grade. We do not collect scouts' dates of birth, home addresses, or photos through this site.
About pack leaders: name, role, den or committee assignment, a short bio and interview answers for the “Our pack” page, and a headshot photo (leaders are adult volunteers).
Health and Youth Protection Training (YPT) status: for camping events, the site tracks whether a health form has been submitted and whether an adult's YPT training is current — a simple submitted / not-submitted status. It does not store the contents of health forms (medical conditions, allergies, medications, etc.); those are handled on paper or through council channels, outside this site.
Financial information: dues, shirt orders, and event charges on your family's account; payments you report (amount, method — Cash App, check, cash, or transfer — memo, and date) and their confirmation status; fundraiser participation (camp cards, popcorn) and any account credit earned. Actual payment is made through Cash App outside this site — we do not collect or store credit card, bank account, or Cash App login information.
Reimbursement claims: for leaders submitting expenses — date, description, amount, category, and a receipt image or file.
Messages sent through the site: if you message a pack leader through their profile page, we relay the message by email along with your name and email address so the leader can reply directly. Leaders' email addresses are never shown to the person sending the message.
Join requests: if you request to join the pack, we collect the parent's name, email, phone, and the names, den, and grade of the scouts being registered.
We do not use cookies or any third-party service for advertising or analytics tracking. The only cookies the site sets are the ones needed to keep you signed in.
How we use this information
We use this information to run the pack: creating and managing family accounts, tracking dues and payments, processing shirt and event registrations, coordinating fundraisers, communicating pack news and announcements, and confirming health-form and YPT status ahead of camping events. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. A limited number of pack volunteers (the treasurer, committee chair, den leaders, and other admins, based on their role) can see the parts of your family's information relevant to their role — for example, a den leader sees their den's roster, while only the treasurer and committee chair see full financial and health/YPT status. The site's permissions are built so a family can only see its own account.
We use a small number of outside services to run the site, each of which processes data on our behalf, never for their own purposes:
Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in.
Resend — delivers emails the site sends (confirmations, notifications, the leader-message relay).
Vercel — hosts the website itself.
We may also share information where required by law, or with Scouting America / the local council where pack administration requires it (for example, confirming a scout's registration).
Children's privacy
Cub Scouts is a program for children, and this site necessarily holds some information about scouts — but that information is entered and controlled by a parent or guardian, not by the child, and scouts do not have accounts or sign in. We collect only what's needed to run the pack (name, den, grade) and do not collect scouts' photos, birthdates, or health details through this site.
Data retention
We keep family, scout, and financial records for as long as your family is active in the pack and for a reasonable period afterward for our own recordkeeping (for example, financial records the treasurer may need for the year-end handoff). If you'd like your family's account information removed sooner, contact the pack and we'll do so except where we need to keep financial records for pack accounting.
Security
Access to your family's information is limited by the role of the person signed in — a den leader, for instance, can't see another family's balance or health status. Passwords are never stored in plain text. No online system is perfectly secure, but we've built the site so that each family's data is only visible to that family and to the pack volunteers whose role requires it.
Your choices
You can review and update your family's information by signing in. You can ask the pack to correct inaccurate information, or to close your account and remove your data (subject to the recordkeeping note above) by emailing pack173jupfl@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we collect or use information, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let families know through the pack's usual communications (the home page news feed and/or a newsletter mention).
